I <3 Root Beer [Jul. 11th, 2006|01:52 am]
got a letter from Penn today.  i was accepted but the scholorship they offered isn't as good as i'd have liked.  i think it's going to be too expensive.  oh well, expecting NYU's letter in the next few days.

Love goes away...like night into day. [Jun. 9th, 2006|02:04 am]

[music |Aria di Mezzo Carattere - Nobuo Uematsu]

i don't think i'm alone when i say there are just certain musical pieces/songs that for whatever damn reason just bring emotions to the surface.  over the years i've documented every instance of such an event with the date i first heard it and then rated the overall level of emotional overflow (how greatly i was moved) on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being moved to tears.  this is an example of a 10 for me.  it's the final cg cutscene from ff vi (psx version.)  obviously this isn't such a big deal if you've never played ff vi and maybe it's not even if you have.  but idk, give it a try if you want.  it didn't really start to hit me until about 1:55 but from there until about 2:20 i just kept feeling my emotions swelling and felt a tear or two fall.  not actual sobbing but just enough to where my face was a little flushed.  the oddest part is that i kind of love this feeling.  maybe it's because these precious moments that music lifts me to this higher place are  just about the only times i ever feel any sort of real emotion coming to the surface.  this is a weird analogy but it's very much like an orgasm in that for it to actually happen i have to have been stimulated for a period of time with some sort of tension building inside me until finally some melody or progression pushes me over the edge and it's all released in this amazing emotional ejaculation... i know on paper this could classify me as 'emo' but even if that is the case i don't think i'm a very 'emo' person.  it's not like i feel sad or angsty or that i'm escaping reality by listening to someone's depressing lyrics.  *shrug* i just love this feeling, nothing else i can say.

1 4m 64d 47 573pm4n14 :( :( :( :( :( [May. 30th, 2006|11:45 pm]
so i'm playing this song that i know a lot of you like (i love it too thank you evan for sending it to me that one time) just on heavy because i stink (those beginner steps are pretty lol when i play them.) anyway, i can usually do it ok but as soon as the 24ths started going i had this feeling that it was a lot harder than usual. so i glance down to make sure i'm not on oni and i notice it is on heavy but for some reason it's on shuffle. i know that doesn't seem like it'd be such a big thing for you guys but i'm gay and play one handed. anyway, i just said fuck it and did my best to read it all and ended up beating my old score by 5 million. then of course i try it again and it kicks my ass and i fail. i guess i got a cool shuffle? anyway, here's the only stepmania screen i'll probably ever post...not because it's some sick score like aylex or jon or sussy or any of you guys for that matter...but because it was a mistake to begin with and it ended up being a really good score for me. don't forget i get the ond hand bonus (-50 greats) :)
